Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 ½ cups tomato sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet; sauté onion until soft, add garlic, cook until fragrant.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and herbs; simmer 5 minutes.
  • Add cream and Parmesan; cook until sauce thickens.
  • Toss in pasta, adding reserved water if needed to loosen sauce.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
