  • 1/2 avocado sliced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds optional
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped (optional)
  • Pickled onions or veggies for garnish optional

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken:

  • Dice the chicken breasts or thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  • Season the chicken with minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Cook the Chicken:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned chicken to the pan and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once cooked, set aside.

Make the Hot Honey Sauce:

  • In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, chili flakes, and minced garlic.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens into a sticky glaze. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.

Combine the Chicken and Sauce:

  • Once the sauce is ready, pour it over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Toss the chicken until it's fully coated with the hot honey glaze. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assemble the Bowl:

  • Start by layering a base of rice (or quinoa) in a bowl.
  • Top with the hot honey chicken, spreading it evenly.
  • Garnish with avocado slices, sesame seeds, green onions, and pickled veggies, if desired.

Serve & Enjoy:

  • Serve immediately and enjoy your hot honey chicken bowls with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors.
