Instructions
 

Prepare the chicken:

  • Trim any excess fat from the chicken breasts or thighs. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they cook evenly and get a nice sear.

Make the honey garlic sauce:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and brown sugar. If you like your sauce a bit thicker, mix in cornstarch. For added zest, you can also squeeze in some lemon juice.

Cook the chicken:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Simmer in the sauce:

  • In the same skillet, pour in the honey garlic sauce. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the sauce thicken slightly for 2-3 minutes.

Coat the chicken:

  • Return the chicken to the skillet, turning it to coat in the sauce. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the chicken is fully glazed and the sauce is thickened.

Serve:

  • Transfer the chicken to a plate, drizzle with extra sauce from the skillet, and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions for a fresh touch. Serve alongside your favorite rice, noodles, or vegetables for a complete meal.
