- 1 ½ pounds ground beef or turkey
- ¾ cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- For the Glaze
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vinegar apple cider or white
Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Avoid overmixing, as it can make the meatloaf dense.
Shape and Bake:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the baking sheet (or in the pan).
Bake uncovered for 40 minutes.
Prepare and Apply the Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar until smooth.
After 40 minutes of baking, spread the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the glaze caramelizes.
Serve and Enjoy:
Slice and serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or your favorite side dish.
Enjoy your delicious homemade meatloaf.
