Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
